Do You Wish You Had An Expert To Train Your Employees, Look Over Your Shoulder, And Guide Your Web & Traffic Strategy?
Information overload can overwhelm the best of them. In fact, most people get so overwhelmed they have no idea where to begin, who to trust, and how to get started. Fear leads to inaction, which can cripple a business. Until now, the only cure known for Fear was Action. What action do most people take? They try to hire someone to do things for them. Here’s the rub, when you hire someone to do something that you are not able to do on your own, you are stuck taking their word and trusting them, even if they are blowing smoke. Which leaves you with two choices. The first choice is the most common which is to find the cheapest vendor, assuming that if it doesn’t work, you have less risk and exposure. Or… you hire the most expensive vendor again assuming that if they can fetch $500 an hour, they are probably very good. However, even if they are the best, since you don’t know what they are supposed to be doing, you again are stuck taking their word and judging them based on the things you do understand, even if they aren’t relevant, like how often they communicate with you, how many deliverable items they promise and deliver on, and how pretty their reporting looks.
Both of these strategies are basically digging your head in the sand and hoping you don’t lose your pants. Think of it like playing poker blindfolded. You might win some hands, you might not lose much since you are unlikely to make crazy bets, but you’ll never win the World Series. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while, but nuts won’t buy you a new Ferrari. If you are serious about your business and making money, the best solution is to GET EDUCATED. You don’ need to be an expert or rocket scientist, you just need to know enough to hire intelligently. You just need a guiding light to expose all the BS, and uncover the diamond in the rough.
When it comes to online marketing, much of the labor can be done by a college student with a little help and direction. Other times, you need the big guns, but price is a lazy way to measure the likely hood of success. In fact, it is a sure fire way to make mistakes.
If you have ever made a bad hire for your marketing efforts, or blew money on the wrong vendor, you need to wise up and have a chat with a proven pro. One that shares his insights publicly on a blog that you can read and verify his expertise. If it doesn’t make sense to you, run in the other direction.
